What shift kits are available?




TransGo is the original creator of the transmission high performance Shift Kit and has been providing high performance transmission products for over 35 years. TransGo makes both regular shift kits and performance shift kits.

The regular TransGo Shift Kits are aimed to fix many of the design flaws in the transmission. This is a more difficult kit to install than the performance kits, and is recommended to do during a rebuild. These kits are aimed more at improving a transmission which in turn helps the performance. A shift kit is one of the most important improvements that can be made to the performance and durability of an automatic transmission.

TransGo Performance Shift Kits are designed with the Do-It-Yourselfer in mind. The TransGo Performance Shift Kits provide the Durability, Firmness and Control of a Reprogramming Kit with the convenience of no transmission removal required, no special tools required and comprehensive and easy to follow instructions and installation videos produced for the home mechanic.

There is no TransGo performance shift kit available for the CD4E/LA4A-EL, 4EAT/GF4A-EL, and 4EAT-G/G4A-EL transmissions.

Lube & Calibration Upgrade

Corrects/Reduces/Prevents:
Drum breakage; Runaway line pressure; gasket blowout, hard shifts; torque converter slip; bushing burnup. Restores designed lockup pressure and lube flow even in worn valve bodies.

The SK Kit for Ford CD4E (Contour-Mystique-Probe, 2.0, 1994-98) and Mazda LA4A-EL is available from TransGo. The kit fixes rough 2nd shift, code 628, converter slip, bushing burn-up, with a fast-install, slide-in Pressure Regulator bushing ... making the valve body better than new. EPC relief prevents forward drum breakage, blown pump gasket, twisted pump shaft, and ballooning converter. This kit makes your repair safe and durable by preventing runaway line pressure, even with electrical failure or stuck EPC solenoid ... and it installs in less than ten minutes.
